BA Connect Newsletter - October 2025
Veronica Salazar
Executive Vice President for Business Affairs
and Chief Enterprise Development Officer
Dear Business Affairs,
As we enter October, there are many opportunities for connection and collaboration—including some of our favorite fall traditions.
The annual State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) begins today. Throughout the month, the SECC offers a meaningful opportunity to support local charities and causes. I hope you will join me again this year in showing our Roadrunner generosity—every contribution makes a difference!
Next week, Oct. 5–11, is our Homecoming & Family Weekend. This week-long celebration includes some of our most-anticipated events pf the year, including BestFest on Friday, Oct. 10 and the homecoming football game against the Rice Owls on Oct. 11.
At the end of the month, we are excited to host our annual Halloween Costume Contest. We will accept both individual and team entries again this year, and I am excited to see your creative costume designs.
Thank you all for your commitment to our community as we navigate another busy semester. I wish you a happy, fun and safe October!
Sincerely,
Veronica Salazar
Executive Vice President for Business Affairs
and Chief Enterprise Development Officer

How to Write About the Integrated University
When communicating about the newly integrated UT San Antonio, make sure you lead with clarity and use consistent naming conventions. On the first reference, use “The University of Texas at San Antonio”, then use “UT San Antonio” and later “the university” or “the institution” as appropriate. You can continue using “UTSA” for athletics, school-spirit initiatives and campus signage where it resonates most. Following these naming conventions ensures clarity in your writing while reinforcing the university’s integrated and unified identity. For additional information, visit the integration's employee resources webpage.
