The PTEAP offers academically outstanding students with an interest in physical therapy an opportunity to be granted conditional acceptance to the School of Health Professions at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) . Students can receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology or Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology (Kinesiology and Health Science Concentration) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and a Doctor of Physical Therapy Care at UTHSA within six years. The PTEAP reduces the time to completion for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree by one full year.
Eligible applicants must be full-time UTSA students majoring in Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology or Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology (Kinesiology and Health Science Concentration)
Have completed at least 30 semester credit hours (SCH) of coursework at UTSA but not more than a total of 75 semester credit hours.
Have a Minimum overall UTSA GPA: 3.6 and a minimum GPA 3.6 in science/math prerequisites.
Have completed a minimum of 20 semester credit hours in math/science prerequisite courses at the time of application (all prerequisites must be completed by the time of matriculation in the DPT program)
Must adhere to UTHSA PT Application requirements for minimum PT shadowing hours needed.
