How Do I Track Computers That Don’t Require an Inventory Tag?

If you purchased a computer that cost less than $500, the Inventory Department will not affix a UTSA barcode to it. To keep track of the computer, you need to record the purchase of the non-inventoried item in InSight. Refer to the InSight user guide on how to add non-inventoried assets.

Why Track a Computer?

Tracking non-inventoried computers helps you manage your department’s information resources. It also allows you to report the health and status of computers in your area.
