A&P FAQs

A&P employees only earn comp time when they work on a holiday or skeleton crew day, in which case they are entitled to earn comp time at a 1:1 rate. Additionally, A&P employees can earn comp time by completing the Wellness Leave Incentive, and Payroll will manually add the time to the employee’s comp time balance.

Yes. To ensure comp time is properly recorded in PeopleSoft, a timesheet must be submitted.

Yes. If an A&P employee is using holiday or wellness comp time, they will enter it using the State Comp Taken Salaried (STCTS) time reporting code, then submit the timesheet for supervisor approval so the time can be properly deducted from their comp time balance.

Because the STCTS code can only be used on and processed through a timesheet, submitting one is required when using holiday or wellness comp time. Other types of absences are not processed through timesheets.

 

Classified Exempt FAQs

Yes. Any time classified exempt employees have an absence request during a workweek, they must submit a timesheet.

Yes. The employee will use the State Comp Taken Salaried (STCTS) time reporting code to report the time and submit their timesheet for supervisor approval so the hours are properly deducted from their comp time balance.

Yes. If an employee works outside their regular schedule, they must submit a timesheet.

No. They must submit a timesheet showing the reduced hours and either submit an absence request or use comp time to cover the difference. If they do not have enough accrued leave or comp time, they are still required to report the absence, and their paycheck will be reduced to reflect the missed hours.

Yes. Any time an employee deviates from their regular schedule, they must submit a timesheet to report the actual days and hours worked.

 

Classified Non-Exempt FAQs

Yes. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) non-exempt status has not changed, so employees are still eligible to earn overtime even though the format of the timesheet has changed.

Yes. They must report their total work hours weekly by submitting a timesheet for review and approval by their supervisor.

No. They must submit a timesheet reflecting the reduced hours and either submit an absence request or use comp time to cover the difference. If they do not have enough accrued leave or comp time, they are still required to report the absence, and their paycheck will be reduced to reflect the missed hours.
