Special Event Security
The UTSA Police Department (UTSAPD) can be hired to staff university events and special programs, such as concerts, speaker visits, athletic competitions and more. Some campus events and venues may require our services to be present. Our goal is to make every event on campus a safe environment for those attending.
Submit a Request
Event requests must be processed through UTSA Events. When you request a space for your event, fill out the form completely and include security information and needs with your event details.
After you submit a request, your event scheduler will contact you with questions or with an event approval. For events in which security is required and/or requested, someone from Public Safety will contact you.
Do We Need Police or Security Coverage at Our Event?
Contact UTSA Events to determine whether or not your event will need police officers or security personnel. Typical reasons an event may require police or security presence include, but are not limited to:
- Alcohol is being served
- Large attendance expected
- Concert, live music, DJ performance or similar
- Scheduled speakers who have generated disturbances or protests
- Money is collected or tickets are sold
- Traffic control and/or road closures
