Appointment Policies

Academic Advising meets with admitted undergraduate students to assist them on their educational journey at UTSA.  The guidelines below outline important information about the appointment process for current students.

Appointment Scheduling

• Academic Advising is available Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• To schedule your appointment, please call (210) 458-4900. Students may also schedule an appointment by emailing their assigned academic advisor OR visit our campus locations at the Student Success Center (Main - between North Paseo & Mckinney Humanities Buildings) or Buena Vista 1.304 (Downtown).
• Appointments are not scheduled for the same day.
• After you schedule an appointment, you will receive a confirmation message to your UTSA email from our scheduling system (Civitas) with your appointment information. Make sure to review the information prior to your appointment.
• Academic Advising offers appointments in-person and virtually via Zoom. For more information, visit Virtual Advising Appointments. 

Cancellation Policy

• If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, e-mail your Academic Advisor or call Academic Advising at (210) 458-4900.
• We ask that you contact us as far in advance as possible (at least 24 hours) so we can make the best effort to offer that appointment time to another student.

No Show Policy

• In an effort to be fair and equitable to all undergraduate students, we enforce a no show policy. A no-show is a student who miss their appointment without cancelling it.
• Please show up on time to your appointment. Students who arrive 10 minutes or more after their scheduled appointment will be recorded as a “no show” on their advising record.
