UT SELECT Preventive Care Incentive Program

Effective September 2026, UT System Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) introduced the UT SELECT Preventive Care Incentive Program (PCIP). Under the PCIP, an additional $50 premium differential applies to each employee or covered spouse without a preventive care exam by Feb. 28, 2027.

About Preventive Care

A preventive exam is a routine yearly checkup or wellness visit when you are not seeking treatment for a specific illness or injury. It is designed to review your overall health, discuss risk factors, update screenings and immunizations, and identify potential health concerns early.

Annual preventive care exams are included in your UT SELECT plan at no cost to you.

What to Do

Ensure you and your covered spouse, as applicable, have a preventive care exam on file by Feb. 28, 2027. Provider schedules fill up quickly, so be sure to book your appointment as soon as possible.

Find a Primary Care Physician

Establishing and maintaining a relationship with a primary care physician is an important way to help catch potential medical issues early and gives you a trusted place to go when you have a health concern.

If you do not have a primary care physician, help is available! Try any of the options below.

Schedule with UT Health

UT Health provides appointment options for employees and covered spouses through Primary Care locations or Wellness 360 in the School of Nursing. Complete the brief scheduling request form, and a member of the team will contact you within three business days to help find an available appointment.

You can also call 210-450-9000 for UT Health Primary Care or 210-567-2788 for Wellness 360 to schedule.

Resources and Tips

As you prepare to ensure you meet PCIP requirements, please keep the following in mind.

  •    Schedule your annual preventive exam as early as possible. Your provider's availability may be limited, and appointments may not be available for a few months.
  •    Verify that your visit qualifies as a preventive exam. Not all doctor visits meet the requirement.
  •    Confirm that the visit will be billed as a preventive care exam when scheduling your appointment. UT SELECT providers typically submit preventive care claims automatically.
  •    Used an out-of-network provider? Members may submit claims or supporting documentation directly to UT SELECT for review and consideration.
