UTSA Mail Codes

To update an existing mail code:

1. Email People Excellence detailing the requested update. Changes/corrections must contain the full name of the department as listed in PeopleSoft. No abbreviations can be used; however, addendums such as “Downtown” or “Main Campus” can be added for clarity.
2. People Excellence will generate a request to update the mail code page in accordance with your submission.
3. People Excellence will notify the requester upon completion of the update or correction. There is no need for further action by the department once this has been completed.

To create a new mail code:

1. Contact Mail Services to set up mail services for your department or office. Please ask for the name and email of the employee who receives your request.
2. Send an email to People Excellence requesting a new mail code for your department. Please provide the full name of the department and the 6-digit department code. Also, include the name of the mail services staff member who took your request. Both are required for processing.
3. People Excellence will generate a request to update the campus mail code website page with the new mail code for your department or office.
4. Once you are notified the process has been completed, please submit a Position Attribute Change eForm for each employee who requires a mail code update. Once completed, the new mail code will be reflected in PeopleSoft.
