Updating Inventory Records
Updating your inventory records on an ongoing basis is important because it helps the Inventory Department identify where an asset is located and who is using it.
Before you get started, gather the following information:
- Tag number
- Identify new user (if needed)
- Identify new location (if needed)
The ICP manages department assets and is responsible for updating inventory records. Contact Inventory staff for assistance with making custodian and location changes. ICPs can use the Transfer Workflow of Assets job aid to make transfers from one department to another or to transfer assets to Surplus Property.
