Heart Walk

Want to support a good cause and feel great while doing it? Help UTSA raise awareness about cardiovascular disease by taking part in American Heart Month events hosted by UT System and UTSA Wellness.

Break up with Heart Disease – Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Activity

Feb. 1-28

Show your heart some love by tracking your blood pressure twice per week this month! With heart disease rates increasing, tracking your blood pressure more frequently can help you identify patterns to share with your physician. To make tracking easy and fun, join the Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Activity, available starting Feb. 1 on the UT Living Well Platform powered by Limeade. Click “Discover” to find the activity. You’ll earn 15 points on the platform each week you track twice!

Please note that only UT SELECT BCBS members have access to the UT Living Well Platform. Non-UT SELECT employees wishing to participate should contact UTSA Wellness for information.


Go Red for Women – Celebrate National Wear Red Day!

Feb. 7

Help raise awareness about cardiovascular disease by wearing red and posting a selfie on Instagram. Be sure to tag @utsawellness and use the hashtags #WearRedDay and #UTSAWearRedDay. UTSA Employees who participate on Instagram will be eligible for a drawing to win a UTSA Wellness swag bag!


Walk It Out – Join Us for the 2025 UT System Heart Walk

Feb. 13

Get outside, get some fresh air and join UTSA Wellness for a short, 10-minute walk at 10 a.m. on the Main and Downtown campuses! Check-in time is 9:45 a.m. at the North Paseo Building breezeway on the Main Campus and at the Frio Street Building portico on the Downtown Campus.

Can’t attend? Take your own 10-minute walk from wherever you are and post your photos on Instagram! Tag @utsawellness and use the hashtags #utheartwalk and #utsaheartwalk. UT SELECT BCBS members can also earn points on the UT Living Well Platform. See you there!
