Textbook Adoption Deadlines
The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) contains numerous provisions which US institutions of higher education must comply with in order to be eligible for Title IV funding (student financial aid). One of these provisions mandates that by the time course registration opens for students, they should be able to view not only the courses available to them, but also the textbooks (and other supplemental materials) that will be required for each course. This allows students to make informed choices about the total costs of a course and also have ample time to find the most affordable textbook option.
UTSA Textbook Adoption Deadlines
The Texas legislature has passed a bill requiring all universities to set deadlines for textbook adoption. UTSA has adopted the following dates:
- October 15th for spring semester
- April 1st for fall semester
- March 1st for summer semester
Early submission allows Rowdy Campus Store more time to search for used copies of books and to research and resolve any issues well in advance of the start of class.

For Administrative Associates
Administrative associates who place orders for their departments can access Follett Discover through our online portal. If an administrative associate needs access to this site and has not yet registered, they can email Jenn Wolff at j.wolff@follett.com.

Although using Follett Discover is strongly preferred to speed the textbook adoption process, Rowdy Campus Store also accepts textbook adoptions via email and phone.
